Welcome and bienvenue

My name is Randy, and I am a History and Literary Studies student at the University of Utrecht. This website will be where I will share some of the essays I had to write for one of my university classes.

This website is also where I write stories or blog entries on historical events or people. This section is located under the heading Historical. I will also attempt to write some reviews of movies or novels that I like, which you can find under Movies and Books.

You may be wondering why I am posting all of this. The answer to this question is rather easy. I am a big history lover and I really like to read books, and I’d want to share some of my work with others.

So, now that I’ve said all of that, it’s time for me to tell you a little bit more about myself. As I previously stated, my name is Randy, and I am a history buff. Reading is one of my interests. I primarily read about history, but I also enjoy novels and classics.

Some of my favorite works are Marcus Aurelius’ (121-181 CE) Meditations, Fyodor Dostoevsky’s (1821-1881) Crime and Punishment, Viktor Frankl’s (1905-1997) Man Search for Meaning, and, of course, J.R.R. Tolkien’s (1892-1973) Lord of the Rings series.

In addition, I enjoy watching movies or television shows. These are mostly classified as science fiction, fantasy, or historical fiction. My favorite movies are the original Star Wars Trilogy.

Finally, it’s time to explain the name of my blog. The name alludes to the fact that I am a history and literary studies student who has recently relocated to the city of Utrecht.
